Big "Milestones"

This past week, Evan was able to say his numbers to 10 and the alphabet clearly without help. Needless to say, mom and dad are proud :) I tried to get it on video, but for now, you'll just have to believe us.

Zoo - in November??

We have been able to go the the zoo the past two weeks because the weather has been so nice. It's been great and Evan loves going. Here are some pictures:

Blue Bear

Evan had grown really attached to a beanie baby - he likes to call him blue bear. For the part few weeks, it's been coming with us everywhere. We'll see if it sticks as a comfort item - along with his bub and blanket.

Jesus Book

Every night, we read books with Evan and he gets to pick out which book he wants to read. The last few nights, he has picked out his Children's Bible. He finds it and tells us - "It's the big book - Bible - Jesus book". I love that he's starting to understand things and is really able to start getting concepts. It's so fun.

E-I-O

In Evan's Johnny's Toys packet was a gift certificate for a free McDonalds Happy Meal. We took him the other day, and while he was enjoying his hamburger and apple slices, we asked him where we were. He excitedly responded "E-I-O" :) I'd rather hear that than "I'm lovin' it!"

Future Rock Star

Last week, my parents were watching Evan and they took him to hang out and Aunt Diane and Charlie's house. Who knew that he'd leave a rock star?

PS - Now all Evan wants for Christmas is a guitar with real stings and a pick!

Yes?

Okay, being 2, Evan says his fair share of "No". He also likes to say "Yes" as well. Although, the yes doesn't quite sound like yes - more like another word for hiney. I got him to say yes twice on this video. Check it out:

Just Relax

Often when Evan gets upset (usually when he's tired) I'll take him in his room and rock him in his chair. I'll tell him that we don't have to sleep, just relax. Well, the other day, Evan and I were playing with Mr. Potato Head. He likes to pretend that Mr. Potato without any eyes, nose, etc. on is a baby. So, all the sudden, Evan takes baby Potato Head over to the chair and starts rocking and talking to him. He kept saying something, and then I realized that he was telling him to "just relax". I guess that he does listen!

Corduroy

Nani took Evan to the library this morning and they checked out a few videos. When they got home, Evan wanted to watch Corduroy the Bear (based off the book). Corduroy loses his button, and spends a night in a department store looking for it. He doesn't find it, but the next day a little girl comes and buys him, takes him home, and fixes his button. Anyway, Evan was watching it intently and all the sudden got really upset. He was crying because Corduroy couldn't find his button! It was so sad and sweet all at one time. (And, I'm hiding the videos during his nap!)

Update - He now LOVES Corduroy. He can recite the whole story to us. Corduroy's sad - lost his button - looks for it in dark - little girl fixes it - little girl friend. Toddlers :)

Halloween

We had a great time on Halloween yesterday! We went to the helicopter candy drop at church. They had bouncers, games, and easter eggs full of candy dropping from the sky. Evan loved the bouncers, but didn't understand the 3 minute time limit.

After church, we rushed home to trick-or-treat in the neighborhood. Evan was still getting over being sick, but had a really good time. Check out some pictures:

And some video:
